How to choose Cherry trees

Cherry trees are generally easy to grow, but do best in a warm sheltered-spot.

If you only have space for one cherry tree, it's important to plant a self-fertile one.

The main problem with growing cherries is keeping the birds off the ripening fruits. Make sure you throw a net or horticultural fleece over the tree, or at least over some of the branches.

Most of the cherry trees we supply are the sweet dessert type, but we also have acid or sour cherry trees, which can be used in the kitchen.
